Take a step back into the 17th and 18th centuries with a visit to this open-air museum. Here, you can experience a traditional Dutch village and learn about the methods used by ancient craftsmen. This attraction is also home to classic windmills, with only five remaining out of the 600 that once stood throughout the area.

Bloemenmarket

Visit the world’s only floating flower market, the Bloemenmarket, in Amsterdam. This market is hosted across a number of barges on the city’s canals, making for an atmospheric shopping experience. Since 1862, this market has been the place to buy flowers, including the hallowed tulip. Nowadays, you can also purchase souvenirs.

Keukenhof

Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is the largest public garden in the world, covering an incredible 70 acres. The technicolour show on display provided by the endless array of tulips is breathtaking, and stretches out as far as the eye can see. The best time to visit is in spring when the flowers are in full bloom.

Van Gogh Museum

In Amsterdam, you’ll find the Van Gogh Museum which houses the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world, including 200 paintings and 400 drawings. Some of the masterpieces on display include The Potato Eaters, Almond Blossoms, The Yellow House, and Sunflowers. There’s lots to explore here and you could easily spend the whole day admiring these outstanding artworks.
