Lomnicky Stit & High Tatras
For an epic adventure, take a cable car to the peak of one of the highest and most visited peaks in the High Tatras. Once you reach the top, over 2,600 metres up, you can admire breathtaking views across Europe’s smallest mountain range. Children will delight in a visit to the solar observation and weather station at the summit.
Slovensky Raj National Park
One of nine national parks in Slovakia, Slovensky Raj is home to epic mountains and one of Europe’s largest ice caves. Kids of all ages will love hiking the numerous well-marked trains, exploring gorges and waterfalls, and venturing into caves with karst formations. Slovensky Raj is one of the best places to experience the natural beauty of Slovakia.
Slovakia’s Museum of History
The Museum of History sits within the Bratislava Castle complex, which overlooks the Danube near the city centre. Since the Stone Ages, people have made the Bratislava area their home. The Celts even established a settlement here. Today, you can walk through the grounds of the fortress-like castle and learn all about the country’s fascinating past.
Spis Castle
Located in Eastern Slovakia, Spis Castle is one of the nation’s most impressive medieval fortresses. With a complex spread across four acres, it's also one of Central Europe’s largest. As you stroll through the grounds, imagine the Hungarian nobles that once resided here. Also, make sure to climb the 22 metre high tower for stunning countryside views.
Strbske Pleso
Strbske Pleso offers something for the whole family year round. In the winter, Strbske Pleso is the country’s best ski resort with kid-friendly trails as well as more advanced runs. During warmer months, you can start popular hikes from Strbske Pleso or boat on its glacial lake. After a day of active family fun, unwind at nearby thermal spas.
