Luxury holidays to Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Mid-Atlantic will help you understand the intricate fabric of American life. Explore historical monuments, experience contemporary politics, soak-up cultural attractions and sample world-class cuisine in two of America’s most captivating and charming cities. Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime.

Both Washington DC and Philadelphia boast a rich history, impressive monuments and attractive buildings. As the capital of the USA, Washington DC has obvious political connections. Washington also showcases some of the country's best art and culture while Philadelphia oozes small-town charm, civic pride, and an excellent culinary scene.

Stylish and sophisticated hotels in both cities provide the perfect base. Washington DC boasts iconic monuments and excellent museums on every corner. Political landmarks such as the White House, United States Capitol, and Lincoln Memorial will top most itineraries, but The National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of African American History and Culture are also worth a visit.

Philadelphia’s appeal is a little more understated than Washington DC’s, but the city is just as captivating. The heart of US colonial and revolutionary history, this UNESCO World Heritage City also generates abundant wealth as the 'Workshop of the World'. City Hall and the Benjamin Franklin Pkwy are testaments to this, while experiments in architecture and social policy gave birth to buildings like the Eastern State Penitentiary.

When To Visit

Washington DC has fantastic weather from late March to June as flowers and fruit trees are blossoming. Autumn often has crisp sunny days, making it another great time to visit with the bonus of fewer crowds at famous sights.

In Philadelphia, spring offers sunshine without the heat making it an ideal time to hop between the city's many attractions. Mummers Parade takes place on New Year's Day, while the citywide Fringe Festival happens in September.

Food & Drink

Thanks to excellent produce from nearby farms and an influx of young residents from around the world, Washington DC is home to one of America’s most diverse culinary scenes. You’ll find many world-class restaurants serving everything from American to Chinese cuisine.

Philadelphia's eclectic dining options deserve praise too. Here, German and Italian cuisines are just as prominent as local specialities like oysters and steaks. Restaurant hotspots include E Passyunk Ave in South Philadelphia, Frankford Ave in Fishtown and Midtown Village.

Passport & Visas
