Dubai is known for many things, including its beautiful skyline, luxury accommodations and sizzling desert, but it is also quickly becoming one of the most popular family fun destinations. Below, we guide you through some of our favourite Dubai family activities.
This is the world's largest indoor 3,000 sqm (real) snow park and the very first in the Middle East. There are snow events, skiing and snowboarding. There is a giant ball run, tube slides, chair lifts and much more for the whole family to enjoy, all at - 4 degrees! It features a bobsled run, a snow cavern with interactive experiences and tobogganing hills. There is the Avalanche Cafe with its warming and tasty hot chocolate and a ski school where your little ones can learn to ski or snowboard.
OliOli- Interactive Children's Museum
This museum has eight galleries and over forty exhibits all designed to stimulate children's bodies and minds. The eight galleries include a Cars and Ramps room where your child can create their own vehicles, Forts and Dens where children can make a fort, castle or anything their imagination decides and an Air Room where you can build objects which fly and have the feeling of the extreme winds you would get during a hurricane. There are also special events such as field trips and themed events and your child can also celebrate their birthday at the museum.
Dubai Miracle Garden
Open seasonally, Dubai Miracle Garden features a butterfly garden, children's play area, art services, 100 million blooming flowers and the tallest topiary structure that is supported which is a 59ft structure of Mickey Mouse! Stepping into the park you feel like you are surrounded by all the colours of the rainbow with amazing flower structures along with houses and buildings covered in blooms. It is a great place to visit to get away from the city and breathe in the beautiful scents of the flower garden.
Take the Dubai Metro around the City
This is a fantastic way to see all over the city of Dubai and little ones love it! One tip though - avoid using it during rush hour! Ride from Dubai Mall to Dubai Marina and take in your surroundings on the green and red lines. The metro is constantly expanding and there will be four more lines built in the future. The trains themselves are driverless, there is a first-class section, women and children-only sections and there are large windows to take in all the views.
Bollywood Parks
This is the first Bollywood-themed amusement park featuring 16 rides and attractions and five separate zones to keep your family entertained. There is live entertainment, cinematic rides stage performances and all things Bollywood in 1.7 million sqft of space. There are plenty of dining options while you are there including Victoria Station, a replica of the Victoria Terminus serving Maharashtrian dishes in a reproduction of a train compartment, a western fast food restaurant and Jumbo Cafe serving ice cream and milkshakes.
IMG Worlds of Adventure
This is the world's largest indoor theme park, which is divided into four 'epic zones' including Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventures with dinosaur rides and the Forbidden Territory ride which takes you amongst life-size dinosaurs. There is also the Marvel Zone which has an Avenger's ride, a motion seat thriller on the Hulk Epsilon Base 3D and a Spiderman ride. The next zone is The Cartoon Network section, with rides based on characters including The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Adventure Time and Lazytown. IMG Worlds has a haunted hotel filled with corridors and scenery which constantly changes as well as some unexpected, or perhaps expected guests. Each zone has their own dining options and shops selling all sorts of must-haves such as World of Candy, Marvel Universe, Empire News and Comics and the Raptor Outpost selling memorabilia.
