When To Visit

The best time to visit Tanzania for a safari trip is during the dry season, from late June to October. You'll see animals gathering by the waterholes and the lack of vegetation will make it easier for you to spot hunting lions and elusive leopards.

At Zanzibar, temperatures exceed 20 degrees all year round. June to October is a popular time to visit with clear skies, little rain and comfortable weather. If you want warmer and drier weather, December to February sees temperatures reach well above 25 degrees.

Food & Drink

Tanzanian cuisine is as varied as the sublime landscape. Meat stews and grilled chicken can be paired with traditional maize porridge, ugali, and you'll also be able to try barbecued meats and rice cooked in coconut milk, as well as spicy kebabs and prawn curries.

By the coast and in Zanzibar, you'll be treated to lots of fresh fish, and with culinary influences from India, China and the Middle East, you'll also be able to try curries, noodles and sweet meats with a Tanzanian twist.
