Back in Bergen, explore museums, churches and the world's largest gingerbread town. Be sure to visit the neighbourhoods of Bryggen with its brightly painted iconic houses situated around a snug port.
South of Bergen, Stavanger is known for its mix of fjords and long white sandy beaches. Take a trip to the old part of town where you'll be greeted with romantic wooden houses, cobblestoned streets and the beautiful 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral. It’s a pretty town to spend a few days relaxing before heading off into Norway’s wilderness.
When To Visit
When you visit Norway will depend on what you're looking to experience. For summer weather, visit between June and August as this is when temperatures reach around 18 degrees Celsius and there are plenty of daylight hours.
From April to May, wildflowers blossom across the countryside and the landscape bursts with colour. From October to March temperatures drop but despite the cold, it's a great time to hit Norway's ski slopes or witness the magical northern lights. In December, Norway's cities come alive with Christmas markets.
Food & Drink
