Set in isolated splendour on the South West coast of the island, on 32 hectares of pristine land once occupied by the Shirazi princes, The Residence Zanzibar is a dream fit for a sultan. The Residence Zanzibar lies on a mile-long powdery white sand beach, flanked by coconut palm trees and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Your accommodation is in bright, contemporary island style single-storey buildings many of which are only feet from the ocean with private plunge pools. There are several intriguing excursion options within an hour’s drive whilst within the grounds are cycle trails, tennis and yoga plus a modern fitness centre and relaxing spa. By the ocean are several complimentary water sports to try and within easy reach, at an extra cost are dolphin cruises, diving, snorkelling etc. Dining is a pure delight with several styles from which to choose; sample fresh locally sourced ingredients and enjoy the stunning ocean views!

The “à la carte” menu features tempting, light options by day but when night falls the menu reflects the spice and culture for which Zanzibar is so famous, combining fresh foods and meats with Omani and African flavours. Open from 07.00 to 22.30
- The Pavilion RestaurantSituated in the lush grounds, a short stroll from the main hotel, The Pavilion brings the best of Middle Eastern cuisine and culture to the heart of Zanzibar in a thoroughly modern setting. Shisha pipes and traditional music fit comfortably alongside the contemporary decor of this speciality restaurant. A mouth-watering menu takes you on a culinary journey from the Mediterranean to the Middle East embracing the flavours of all the countries in between. Open from 19.00 to 22.30
- On the Beach or at the PoolsideFor those who do not want to leave their sun lounger, lunch is delivered in a rattan basket. The menu includes a selection of salads, fresh seafood, fritters and pasta. Open from 12.00 to 16.00
