The format of the ceremony is as follows:
* A Long Drum procession escorts the wedding couple from their room to the wedding venue (on the beach,

* The newly weds plant a love tree in the hotel grounds to commemorate their wedding

Legal issues

If you plan to have a legal marriage that is to be registered in the Kingdom of Thailand,
there are a number of legal steps to be followed.

You will have to provide confirmed and written evidence that your legal civil status
allows you to get married.

Forms are available from your country’s emmbassy in Bangkok.

Once in Thailand, you will have to present yourself at your embassy in Bangkok, together
with your passport for the form to be stamped.

The form then has to be translated into Thai by an authorized translator who will use a
stamp that the Thai authorities will accept.

You will then have to take this form in Thai to the Legalization and Naturalization Dept
in Bangkok; they will need three full working days to process it.

Thai Marriage Certificate (Issue at Koh Lanta District)

Document reference:
The District Office of Koh Lanta (Ampur) will not issue a Thai marriage registration
certificate without a letter to prove the couple have not been married before. The original
official confirmation letter/document issued by embassy in Bangkok must be on hand.

Procedure:
The resort must submit a written request to the Chief Official of Koh Lanta district,
specifying date, time and place of wedding ceremony include itinerary. Chief of District will handover to his assistant (Palad Amphur) who will handle the wedding registration
on his behalf and witness the ceremony.
