If there’s one moment we’d highlight, it’s the Boma dining experience under the stars. There’s something so incredibly special about sitting around the fire as the delta night comes alive, elephants ambling in the distance, and a carefully prepared meal served with personal attention from your guide. It’s intimate, atmospheric, and quintessentially African. The kind of experience that defines a Belmond safari.
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is located in the Savute region of Chobe National Park, Botswana, a wildlife-rich corridor famous for its resident elephant herds, lions, and diverse birdlife.
Guests arrive via light aircraft transfers from Maun or Kasane, followed by a short transfer into the lodge. The lodge’s remote setting guarantees unrivalled access to the delta’s wildlife, and makes you feel like you’ve truly escaped to one of Africa’s most spectacular landscapes.

Belmond has teamed up with Tourism That Cares to make kosher dining possible on safari, one of the first in Botswana to do so. Each lodge has fully separate kitchens and utensils, with specially trained staff to ensure compliance. For Orthodox travellers, a dedicated kosher chef can also be arranged at an additional cost.
Guests can opt for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on their own deck, with a private butler ensuring a bespoke and intimate experience surrounded by the savannah's scenery.
The best option for breakfast, brunch, lunch or sundowners one day may be dining in the heart of the bush. If that's the case, the team will set up in a beautiful safe spot, and you'll dine with your guides in the heart of the wild.
A quintessentially African experience, the chance to dine in a Boma is one that shouldn't be turned down. Once a meeting place for senior tribesmen, these areas are now the setting for delicious food, fire, and music. The result? One spectacular night.
