Day One
From London Heathrow, board your Thai Airways overnight flight to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, via Bangkok
Day Two
Arriving in the morning to make the most of your time, a private transfer will meet you at the airport and take you on the short journey to Raya Heritage where you'll spend the next 3 nights in a Rin Terrace Suite, with breakfast included.
Days Three to Four
There is a whole host of things to do in Chiang Mai, such as Tuk Tuk experiences to hilltribe communities, visiting markets by way of a 'Samlor' (a three-wheeled, cycle-powered carriage) or heading north towards Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle where Myanmar, Laos and Thailand meet. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you leave enough time to enjoy the resort and its majestic views.
Day Five
A private transfer will take you back to Chiang Mai Airport where you'll board a direct Bangkok Airways flight south, to Krabi. The Rayavadee team will meet you here and escort you by van and speedboat across to the resort. You'll stay at Rayavadee for 7 nights in a Deluxe Pavilion, again with breakfast included.
Days Six to Eleven
One of the main attractions of Thailand as a whole, and certainly when staying at Rayavadee, is the beaches. Your pavilion will be just moments away, so you'll likely dedicate a good amount of time to relaxation - and rightly so. For when you can pull yourself away from the sand, the team at Rayavadee will be happy help arrange any number of a wide range of excursions. You could visit neighbouring islands such as the Phi Phi Islands, Bamboo Island or Chicken Island (so named after the peculiar rock formations). On land you could enjoy nature walks, visit an emerald-coloured pool or head to the lively morning market in Krabi.
Day Twelve
It's time to say goodbye to the 'Land of Smiles' as the Rayavadee team take you back to Krabi Airport by speedboat and van where you'll board your Thai Airways flights to London Heathrow, via Bangkok.
Chiang Rai & the Golden Triangle
The journey begins with the morning drive through beautiful scenery, with a stop at the Hot Springs at Mekajan. From a viewpoint set high on the hillside, there are magnificent views over the Mekong and Ruak Rivers, where the borders of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand meet. Enjoy a boat trip along Mae Khong River to Chiang Sean, the first capital of the Thai Kingdom in the 10th century. After lunch, drive to Mae Sai, a bustling border town with Myanmar and the northern most point of Thailand. Shop around for some Myanmar goodies. before starting the return journey. Visits throughout the day are also made at Akha and Yao hill tribe villages.
Chiang Mai Markets by Samlor
From Thapae Gate, in the heart of Chiang Mai meet your ‘Samlor’ driver and board your three wheeled, cycle powered carriage to visit some of the most famous and popular markets in the city, including San Pakoy Market, often missed by tourists; Talad Tonlamyai, a bustling flower market, part of the wider Kad Luang market running parallel with the river and Talad Waroros, a must-visit for food lover with a wide range of ready to eat meals, snacks and fresh produce. You’ll also visit the Wat Loi Kroh, a beautiful temple built over 600 years ago, the Iron Bridge over the Ping River and Wat Ket Temple, the home of a fascinating museum.
Tuk Tuk & Hill Tribe Experience
Settle into the comfy back seats of these modified vehicles as your guide drives you through the small rural roads and communities to the remote hillside temple, Wat Tham Nam Hu, where you’ll have the opportunity for a short walk and look out from the viewpoint. Climbing higher up the Mae Wang Valley, you’ll pass through several villages and farming communities with some stops for a coffee of course, reaching altitudes of up to 1,400m, winding through forests until you reach the huge hilltop Buddha image overlooking the surrounding valleys, the perfect place to break for lunch. In the afternoon, as you wind down the hillside stopping to explore as the opportunities arise eventually ending at Mae Sapok to walk through some forest to a lovely waterfall.
Kayaking & Cycling Day Tour
Get active for an exciting day of kayaking and cycling in and around spectacular Sri Lanna National Park, located only an hour's drive from Chiang Mai! Begin the day with a gentle cycling tour in the Mae Taeng valley, following your guide along rural roads set against a backdrop of shimmering rice fields, fruit orchards and bamboo forest. After a motorboat to a floating restaurant and an amazing lunch, you will paddle to explore the surroundings, or simply swim and relax.
