Oasis Park

This excellent botanical garden and wildlife park can be found in La Lajita. Home to over 250 species, including crocodiles, snakes, elephants, lemurs, and hippos, Oasis Park is famed for its demonstrations and sea life shows. Meanwhile, the botanical garden houses more than 1,500 species from around the world, including a vast array of cacti and succulents.

Corralejo Natural Park

Whether or not you stay in Corralejo, a trip here is worth it for the magnificent sand dunes. Travel here and feel transported to a distant desert as you walk amongst the rippling hills of white, powdery sand. Afterwards you can make your way down to the beach and cool off in the warm, shallow waters.

Tindaya Mountain

Montaña de Tindaya is a dramatic peak situated in the north of Fuerteventura. Considered sacred by ancient indigenous inhabitants, the mountain bears a number of symbolic engravings at its base. As a protected site that is home to rare birds, Tindaya is only accessible with a hiking permit (which can be obtained in Corralejo or Puerto del Rosario).
