Thorvaldsen Museum
The Thorvaldsen Museum is dedicated to the sculptures of Bertel Thorvaldsen, one of the most famous artists in 19th century Europe. The pieces created by this Danish sculptor are truly amazing with large marble artworks in the Neoclassical style. You'll also find sketches and drawings by the artist and lots of painting and artefacts that Thorvaldsen collected in his lifetime.
Nyhavn
One of the most iconic places in Copenhagen, Nyhavn is a waterfront district lined with brightly coloured 17th-century houses, bars and restaurants. It's where the famous Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen lived. This area is as fantastical as Andersen’s stories. Wander the picturesque canal and admire the pretty architecture, sailboats and historical wooden ships.
National Gallery of Denmark
The National Gallery of Denmark houses an impressive collection of artworks from the 1300s to the present day. You can explore famous works by old European masters like El Greco, Rembrandt, Rubens and Titian. Its extensive collection also includes plenty of modern masterpieces by renowned artists like Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
Tivoli Gardens
One of the world's most popular theme parks and pleasure gardens, Tivoli offers a wealth of unique experiences. It opened in 1843 and is the world's second oldest working amusement park. You'll find new rides with lots of loops and twists as well as classic rides from the past like one of the world's oldest wooden roller coasters.
Rosenborg Castle
Rosenborg Castle is a stunning example of Dutch Renaissance architecture. This 17th-century castle features ornate spires and exquisitely manicured gardens. It's also home to royal art treasures, the crown jewels and royal regalia. The lavish interior is well-preserved and offers a visual journey to the past.
