Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Tourism Zone

One of the largest cultural tourist attractions in China, the Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Tourism Zone includes three parks that shine a light onto the traditions of Chinese Buddhism. Highlights include the Nanshan Temple and the Guanyin of Nanshan, a giant statue 354 feet tall that rises out of the sea.

Rainforest Trek Sanya

Head into the wilds and trek one of the rainforests near Sanya. Visit Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park with long rope bridges over chasms and cliff-perched observation decks. Take a short journey north and hike through the nearby Yanoda Rainforest where waterfalls, lakes and stepping-stone laden rivers await. Keep your eyes open for exotic animals and tropical birds.

Luhuitou Peak Park

Located on the southern tip of Hainan Island on a hill, Luhuitou Peak Park boasts beautiful scenery, forests, and wildflowers. At the top of the peak, a massive statue celebrates the local legend of Luhuitou. Take a walk along several winding nature trails and capture panoramic views of Sanya and the endless South China Sea.

Yalong Bay Beach

Yalong Bay beach is one of the finest beaches in Sanya and all of Hainan Island. A long curve of white sand fringed with palms stretches alongside sparkling waters. It's a beautiful place, great for relaxing and for long walks. The bay is also brilliant for snorkelling and diving, thanks to its clear warm waters and colourful coral reefs.

Wuzhizhou Island

Just to the east of Sanya, take a boat trip to Wuzhizhou Island and discover a miniature paradise. Walk along a coastline of pristine white sand lapped by electric blue waters. The sea is crystal-clear and home to rich, protected coral gardens. It's a perfect place for bathing, snorkelling and swimming.
