When To Visit

January is the peak of summer in Auckland, making it an ideal choice if you’re seeking some winter sunshine. Expect warm temperatures during New Zealand’s summer season, which spans from December to February.

Spring and autumn also offer plenty of sunshine and even Auckland’s winter months remain pleasant with lows of eight degrees Celsius. During winter is when the ski fields open for business, making it an excellent time to visit if you’re a fan of winter sports.

Food & Drink

With two large harbours to call its own, it’s no surprise that Auckland has fresh and tasty seafood. Expect seasonally driven cuisine and bold flavours with strong Asian influences. Be sure to choose a glass of world-class New Zealand wine to accompany your meal.

At the weekend, head along to local farmers markets to pick up gourmet treats and regional delicacies or visit City Works Depot, where you’ll find many restaurants serving craft beers and international dishes with a kiwi flavour.
