The Gran Via
The Grand Via is Madrid's famous shopping street. Here, you'll find shops featuring renowned designers and brands. This area also boasts excellent high-end, independent boutiques. It's a lively part of the city and a great place to go for a spot of luxury shopping. You’ll also find some excellent theatre venues showing acclaimed productions.
Parque del Buen Retiro
As one of the largest parks in Madrid, Parque del Buen Retiro is a beautiful place for long walks and to soak up Madrid's chic charms. With art galleries, monuments, sculptures and a peaceful lake, this park is a centrepiece for a romantic and relaxing day. You can even go boating on the lake.
Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
As part of the Golden Triangle of Art, Thyssen-Bornemisza covers artistic masterpieces and styles you won't find in the other two galleries. The Thyssen has masterpieces from Dutch, English, German and Italian master, with renowned names like Albrecht Durer, Gauguin, Klee and Vincent van Gogh. It's a gallery not to be missed.
Museo Nacional Del Prado
As one of the largest art museum in Spain, Museo Nacional Del Prado is home to some of the most significant Spanish artworks in the world. You'll find masterpieces like The Third of May 1808 and Saturn Devouring His Sons by Goya, Diego Velazquez's Las Meninas, The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch and a whole lot more.
Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía
Located near the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, Reina Sofia houses one of the most significant collections of 20th-century Spanish artists. It is also one of the largest modern and contemporary art museums. The gallery houses masterpieces by Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali as well as one of the most significant artworks of the last century, Picasso's Guernica.
