In March 2022, our CRM Marketing Manager, Hannah, embarked on a luxury Mediterranean cruise with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, well known as The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet™.
Cruises are an amazing opportunity for seeing multiple destinations whilst travelling in ultra-all-inclusive luxury, and Regent Seven Seas are one of the best. We know that sometimes a personal touch makes all the difference when you’re looking into a holiday, so we’ve put together this account of Hannah’s trip so for you to read a first-hand account of the unrivalled luxury of a Regent voyage.
What were your first impressions of the ship?
“A lovely first impression, and very exciting as it was my first ever cruise. It was a very quick boarding – our embarkation at the port to board the ship was only 15 minutes and completely seamless. The staff were great and enthusiastically welcomed us on board.”
Which destinations did your cruise visit?
“Sailing out of Civitavecchia, the port for Rome we had one day at sea to explore the ship before arriving into Ajaccio, Corsica, an island in between Italy and France famous for being the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. It had a beautiful port and we took one of Regent’s included shore excursions, then we went up to the mountains where the views were incredible. The tour guide knew so much about the history of the area which I loved.
We were also able to experience an excursion to Rome where we saw some of the historical sights and sampled Italian Gelati and strong espresso coffees. There was some free time to explore and I had the opportunity to visit the famous Spanish steps and the Colosseum, which I’ve always wanted to see!”
What were the food and drinks like?
“Regent is famous for their speciality restaurants. The food was delicious and everything was included in the price which makes things so easy. There was an Italian restaurant and an American steakhouse, Prime 7, where I had the best surf and turf of my entire life! I tried all three of these and they were all amazing with very different atmospheres vibes, so good for variety.
Also, I have to mention the room service, which was incredible. I had my breakfast delivered to me every day in my suite. All drinks were included too and there was such a good choice, with high-end spirits, fine wines, cocktails and champagnes as part of the package. There were three main lounges to enjoy drinks – an Observation Lounge with a piano and laid back vibes, and the Horizon lounge with live music, for something a little upbeat.”
What was your accommodation like?
“A really spacious suite with a marble bathroom that had a walk-in shower AND a separate full-sized bath! So rare for a cruise ship and much appreciated! Also, the bed was absolutely enormous. The veranda had a full rattan furniture set which was very comfortable, I spent plenty of time here enjoying the ocean views as we sailed. The best part was they had a bottle of Champagne on ice when I arrived, with Champagne flutes at the ready! It was great, I felt like royalty.”
How was the service on board?
“I found the service very good from start to finish. All the staff were so welcoming when I arrived on board and extremely attentive throughout the trip. Everyone said hello and it wasn’t forced – they seemed genuinely happy to see you. There were so many small above-and-beyond things we experienced too. I forgot a plug adapter, and they happily lent me one at reception for the duration of the cruise! There was also a butler service. The butler was always on hand if you needed them and was ready and waiting to welcome me to my suite. In general, excellent standard of service and very organised indeed.”
What was your favourite part of the cruise?
“I loved the room service breakfast! I’m such a foodie and it made me feel completely spoiled. They left a menu on your bed every night with things like fruit, eggs, bagels and pancakes, then it was delivered to your room in the morning. One of my favourite parts of the cruise was enjoying a full English breakfast every morning from my suite balcony whilst peacefully looking out over the sea. Such a treat.”
Would you cruise again?
“Yes, definitely! I thought it was great value for money and the fact that absolutely everything was included meant I didn’t need to worry about any additional costs at the end. It’s rated as a 6-star cruise and I fully agree, it was a luxury experience from start to finish.”
