Sky Tower
For panoramic views of Auckland and genuinely fantastic dining experience, head to the top of this iconic 60 storey tower and take a seat in the revolving restaurant. You can watch as daredevils take the plunge on the tower’s incredible bungee jump while you sip on a drink in the tower’s chic cocktail bar.
Auckland Domain
Visit the Auckland Domain for a tranquil walk among the trees. This green city park has plenty to enjoy, including the entire crater created by the explosion of the Pukekawa volcano. You can gain a deeper appreciation for Auckland’s oldest park by strolling around its museums and memorials. Auckland Domain is the ideal place to spend an afternoon.
Waiheke Island
Just a short ferry ride from Auckland, you’ll find a lush and scenic island home to beaches, olive groves and vineyards – perfect for a day trip. Visit the white sandy beaches at Oneroa, Palm Beach and Onetangi for a spot of sunbathing and then cool down with a walk along one of the island's trails through native forests.
Waitematā Harbour
Also known as Auckland Harbour, Waitematā Harbour is Auckland’s gateway to the sea and offers plenty of fun ways to spend an afternoon. Walk along the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge for stunning views of the surrounding skyscrapers and waterfront or browse its lively shops, cafes and restaurants.
Rangitoto Island
From downtown Auckland, take a ferry to Rangitoto Island to discover a pristine volcanic island. It has got some stunning views and is the perfect place to take a hike or see New Zealand's plant and animal life. You can hire a sea kayak to explore the island’s dramatic coastline.
