Sanctuary of Truth

The Sanctuary of Truth is a breathtaking, multi-tiered wooden construction lavishly decorated with religious statues. The height of the building reaches 105 meters high and inside ornate carvings cover the walls from floor to ceiling. Better yet, the site is used for cultural performances too, displaying traditional dancing, sword fighting and fencing. A must-see attraction.

Koh Larn Island

Just off the coast of Pattaya, Koh Larn Island (also spelled Ko Lan) is a little emerald gem covered with a tropical rainforest and fringed with powdery white sands. The crystal-clear waters are great for snorkelling and a number of piers offer fishing too. Head into the forest and you'll spot lots of little monkeys as well.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo

Covering around 2,000 acres, this special zoo allows its 8,000 odd animals, from over 300 species, to roam free across recreated habitats. Stroll a recreation of the African Savannah and watch elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos and zebras from viewing decks. Walk through an aviary with over 80 different bird species and wander grasslands and deserts in search of big cats.

Anek Kusala Sala

Housed in the beautiful Viharn Sien Chinese temple, this museum is a one-of-a-kind place with one of the best collections of Chinese artworks in Thailand. On display, are lots of lifesize statues of Shaolin monks performing martial arts, golden Buddhas and terracotta soldiers. You'll also find granite carvings, old paintings, as well as bronze artefacts from the Ming Dynasty.

Buddha Hill

Known locally as Khao Phra Tamnak, climb the many steps of this hill and you'll be greeted with a massive golden Buddha statue and a modest Buddhist temple. Spectacular panoramic views across the entirety of Pattaya Bay add to the allure of the area too. In the evening, watch one of the best sunsets in Pattaya.
